After a while of silence there is now a new Diodon version 1.5.0 available. It brings some small fixes and is also available for Ubuntu 16.04 in the stable ppa.
Following has been fixed:
- #1502486 Diodon status bar icon cropped in gnome-flashback session
- #1525071 Add link how to configure hotkey to preferences
- #1562563 desktop file validation fails
- #1541071 Expose ZeitgeistClipboardStorage.get_item_by_checksum
As always can you either download it as tarball or install it through the ppa with the following commands:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:diodon-team/stable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install diodon # and for all Unity users there is also a scope sudo apt-get install unity-scope-diodon
Last but not least – happy pasting and let me know if you have any feedback.
I just installed Diodon 1.5.0 on Ubuntu 16.04 and it is not working. The clipboard history is always empty.
Cheers.
I have the same problem as Luís de Sousa. The clipboard history is empty.
1.) I have used this source: http://sourcedigit.com/18751-how-to-install-diodon-clipboard-manager-on-ubuntu-15-10-ubuntu-14-04/
2.) Uninstalled http://installion.co.uk/ubuntu/vivid/universe/d/diodon/uninstall/index.html
3.) I have used source from this site, now works properly.
There are two things which could have happened:
1. Running diodon the very first time nothing gets added to the history. Simply stopping diodon and opening again solves this.

I love your work !
Sadly keepassx 2.0.2 saves the passwords in diodon, even after adding keepass to the blacklist “security -> privacy”.
The pid in the is log is from keepassx so it shoud know that it shouldn’t be saved but still it happens, or did i miss understand something ?
But anything else works perfectly !
Thanks for your feedback.
Concerning KeePassX. This seems to be a bug that Diodon can not properly determine KeePassX’s path – I created a bug report for this see here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1613404
I also love your work. Best clipboard manager in the world! I would love to see a place on github where all plugins are listed? I would like to have at the bottom of clipboard list some custom/fixed text like my ip etc… I looked at your plugin system and this should be easy to do, but I would lose whole for this.
Thanks for your feedback.
There is a blueprint which list different ideas for plugins at the bottom there is also a list of 3rd party plugins:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/diodon/+spec/ideas-for-plugins
Plugin for static item has been requested before see here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1444941
It would be a really nice plugin. Not sure when I will get around to do it, but patches are always welcome.
